November 2020

“Now the Waiting Begins”

On Tuesday, November 3, 2020, the campaign and election for the 46th President of the United States of America will be over – phew – relief in sight!

Candidates spent millions of dollars courting the public and making “promises” that a vote for them would improve the lives and wellbeing of the voters and that a vote for the opponent would mean doom!  It was difficult to tell the difference between a lie and the truth.  One candidate stated the unsubstantiated lie that we were “rounding the corner” on Covid 19, defying the experts. The other candidate had to re-apologize for a law which resulted in mass incarceration of people of color.

Prior to November 3rd, early voters cast ballots in unprecedented numbers.  At this writing, Polls indicate Biden is leading and the Las Vegas “Odds Makers” have flipped back and forth on the outcome.  Time and Count Will Tell!  Whatever the outcome, Christians can rest assured we are still more than conquerors (Romans 8:37).

We know by divine authority; no matter who becomes the 46th PresidentGod is still on the throne, there is no voting Him out or overthrowing His kingdom.  Throughout the word He is described as: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6), Sovereign (1 Timothy 6:15); Lamb, Lord of lords and King of kings (Revelation 17:14).  King of all the earth (Psalm 47:7).  The Bible tells us what has been, what will come and that there is nothing new under the sun – even things like what are happening today!  This is not the end!

Whatever choices you make in life, cast your lot on Him.  He will enable you to persevere through the trials and tribulation of this world and will receive us unto Himself with great joy at the appointed time.  Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him James 1:12.

Pray for the healing of our land: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

Pray for the Leaders: “First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone, for kings and all those who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2

Whatever the culmination of the 2020 Election, continue to trust in our Lord, again I say trust! Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil (Proverbs 3:5-7)
