Savior of the World

In this city of brotherly love, we have passed 500 homicides.  Why?  Hopelessness!

Sadly, many believe where they are in life now is where they will remain.  They have “no hope” that their lives will ever be better!  They have no expectation of the future.  They live for the “now: and don’t concern themselves with “later”.  They know they were born, are alive now and will die; but, have no concept, hope or expectation of what happens after death.  Some feel “dead ya done”!  Not so!  There is existence after life and we should be spreading the Gospel making clear how our now determines our later!

We must train up a child in the way he should go (Proverbs 22:6), we must chastise out of love for correction and right direction (Proverbs 19:8).  We must be examples, intermediaries, conduits interceding for others in and outside of our families and community (Matthew 5:16). We must be examples of God’s love (John 3:16), grace and mercy (2 Timothy 1:9) and we must pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).

Pray for God to bring a revival to this city and the world.  Pray against the mindlessness and in turn for mindfulness of the things of God to be “accepted not excepted” (Isaiah 45:22).  Be God’s witness spreading the hope we have in Jesus for restoration, reconciliation and for the blessed life after life achieved through His birth, death and resurrection.

Without Jesus Christ, all are doomed: Romans 5:12: “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:”

Through Jesus Christ, all are forgiven and victorious over Satan, sin and death: John 3:16-18: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.”

From the beginning, our Lord made provisions for man to be saved!   At the right time, Christ came into the world: Romans 5:6-8: “For at just the right time, while we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.”

As Christ came into the world at just the right time, so He will return at just the right time (in fulfillment of the scriptures): “It is not for you to know the times or dates the father has set (Acts 1:7).”  Be ever ready!

Spread the Gospel of hope to the hopeless that our Lord provides victory over life’s circumstances through Christ Jesus our Savior.  Live forward in the assured promises we have through Him.  Spread the joy of Jesus without ceasing.

Hallelujah and Merry Christmas
