June 2020

The bloodline of Jesus erases the color line of man!

The world has been rocked!  The Covid-19 invaded every continent (except Antarctica) on the face of the earth disabling and killing indiscriminately.  From the “well known” to the “unknown” were affected.  From the heads of countries to the disenfranchised without a country and here in the USA, African Americans have been disproportionately affected and ultimately died.

Along with Covid-19 wreaking havoc in America, another threat known as Number 45 is causing pandemonium.  Number 45 refuses to be an example by wearing a mask, has more concern for the health of the economy than that of the health of Americans.  To appease evangelical Christians, he declared houses of worship were to be opened on May 30th, in disregard to the Director of National Institute of Infectious Diseases – the experts advising otherwise.  His answer to the George Floyd protest was to have peaceful demonstrators at the White House rubber bulleted and tear gassed to clear a path so he could walk to Saint John’s church and hold up a bible.  Bishop Budde who oversees St. John, was outraged and pointed out that Number 45 neither prayed, read scripture, acknowledged the agony of 400 years of systemic racism and white supremacy in our country or referenced George Floyd’s murder.  Number 45 uses the presidency explicitly for his personal agenda which includes campaigning for November 2020 and not for the good of the nation.

“Can unjust leaders claim that God is on their side— leaders whose decrees permit injustice? They gang up against the righteous and condemn the innocent to death. But the Lord is my fortress; my God is the mighty rock where I hide. God will turn the sins of evil people back on them. He will destroy them for their sins. The Lord our God will destroy them.” (Psalm 94:20-23 NLT)

Times are hard; but, take heart, this too shall pass!  “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33. Good will overcome evil. The end of all things is near. Therefore, be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray. (1Peter 4:7)

Be strong and of a good courage,  fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he [it is] that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Deuteronomy 31:6

Look to the Lord and pray without ceasing and remember:  We are covered by the Blood of Jesus!

 Victory in Christ
